Are Presidential candidates getting a free pass from the Writers?
Chris Matthews made a valid point yesterday, in that presidential candidates may be getting away with a lot because there are no writers around to castigate them.
Imagine what Jon Stewart could have done with the Judith Nathan security protection problem and how Colbert could have torn apart Hillary’s comment about Barack Obama wanting to be president in kindergarten.
Boy, it’s hard to get through weeks without Comedy Central at a regular time, but during the height of the campaign season, it’s downright criminal.
As Howard Kurts says “Candidates are getting amnesty from the writers.”
